Maybe: If the initial test was positive and there was no tubal pregnancy, there are only two likely possibilities. One, initial test was falsely positive or u have intrauterine pregnancy. U will need to call ur doctor to discuss repeat test preferably quantitative hcg.

It is possible: There are several possibilitie: 1. A normal pregnancy that is inside the uterus but is too small to see. 2. An ectopic pregnancy that is too small to see. 3. An ectopic pregnancy that was released from the tube, as a result it is not possible to see it. 4. A pregnancy inside the uterus that miscarried. As you see the only way to know is by close follow up with your physician.
