Super home hygiene.: Pregnancy often results in swollen or bleeding gums because of the other things your immune system is busy doing. Make sure you are regularly brushing gently & thoroughly as well as flossing every day. Keep current with your dental visits, and check in with your dentist to make sure the swelling isn't due to another problem.

Depends: Is the swelling cause by gingivitis or periodontal problems, or is it caused by an abscessed tooth? Each are treated slightly differently. Hormonal changes during pregnancy can cause your gums to swell, bleed, and hurt. A quick visit to your dentist can determine the cause of your problem and the proper treatment.
