Went to the doctor today and i was told that im 7 weeks and 4 days.... got an ultrasound done and there only was a sac no fetus. what does that mean?

It depends: This could be a blighted ovum (not viable and will ultimately miscarry) or perhaps you ovulated late (cycles can vary) and you are not as far along as you thought. Measurements of the sac size can help determine this but are not perfect. Most doctors will do a follow up scan in a week or two to see how things progress.

Depends: This is a frustrating point for patient and doctor both. Without having a repeat ultrasound and repeat beta HCG (pregnancy hormone) level in 48 or more hours from your u/s, it can't be determined yet. It could be an early pregnancy that is normal but just hasnt shown up yet or it could be a blighted ovum (a type of miscarriage).
