Heart failure: The first item to rule out is heart failure. Low protein in the blood stream could cause swelling but that would occur in other parts of the body also. Even if you are on water pills you can swell. Your meds may need to be changed. See your doctor. One other possibility -a blockage in your lymphatic system.
