Reconsider issue: Swelling of the ankles and knees can be due to fluid retention, but it could also be due to joint inflammation/ arthritis. Physical examination and labs can help pinpoint the issues. Avoid salty food, drink adequate fluids, remember that medications(including ibuprofen, amlodipin) can add to the issues. Elevate feet. Wear compression socks/ stockings. Follow up with your MD if problems continues.
