Pleurisy: This is termed "pleuritic" pain, meaning pain originating from the lining of the lungs (called the pleura). Common causes of pleurisy are infections of the lung's lining (e.g., viruses), bacterial infections of the lung (pneumonia), blood clots in the lung's blood vessels (pulmonary embolism), tumors, blood in the pleural space caused by trauma to the chest, etc. See your doctor.
