Possible but...: Exposure to "white spirit" solvent in polyurethane paints can cause nausea, drowsiness, liver toxicity but ingestion is typically necessary to get these reactions. The fumes of paint have been associated with congenital anomalies (in pregnant women), asthma, blood disorders, & "sick-house syndrome." please clarify with your child that he/she did not eat the paint & if so, get right to er please!
