Child had vomiting and mild diarrhea resolved except mild nausea. contact with snakes at a bday party week before. should i worry about salmonella?

Vomiting and diarrhea can occur from viruses as well as food-borne pathogens in addition to bacterial infections. Antibiotics are discouraged due to prolonging the infection. Plenty of fluids should be encouraged.
