Rule out neuropathy: Sounds like the frayed meniscus may not be clinically relevant. Meniscal symptoms include pain and occasional locking. Nerve damage can cause numbness and can explain your sx. I have not heard of a knee MRI identifying nerve damage? I would see a neurologist next.
