Iron foods: Red meat, liver, egg yolks dark, leafy greens (spinach, collards) dried fruit (prunes, raisins) iron-enriched cereals and grains (check the labels) mollusks (oysters, clams, scallops) turkey or chicken giblets beans, lentils, chick peas and soybeans, artichokes. Taking vitamin c also aides in iron absorption.

Find cause: If you are iron-deficient and not on an iron-poor diet (vegetarian and junk-food are equally dangerous here), we need to find why your are iron-deficient. It may be nothing more than heavy periods or frequent blood-bank deposits, but we want to be sure you're not losing blood into your gut or elsewhere. Good luck.
