Ferritin is moot, since it to is an acute phase reactant. You have serous inflammation. At your age arthritis, or autoimmune disease is likely. Polymyalgia rheumatica would be first. See someone in rheumatology.

See details: Have the doctor check an immunofixation blood test. Also , did the rheumatologist not think you had polymyalgia? If the immunofix is not diagnostic, suggest to your doctor to consider starting a low dose of Prednisone (15-20 mg daily) and see if that helps.
