Both studies are indicators of inflammation in the body. The sed rate is test decades older than the CRP but is still used to monitor many long term conditions. The CRP measures a specific protein produced in the liver in response to inflammation. They are not specific. Interpretation of what these mean to your case should be made by doc who knows your case and can put it in context.

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, elevation of either sed rate or CRP is not diagnostic of a specific illness, it indicates inflammation and your doctor needs to ascertain the cause of inflammation and treat it.
