Tonsils: These are tonsilliths, they are retained food particles in you tonsils. The easiest approach is to gargle after each meal.

Tonsillar stones: The white spots on the tonsils are probably tonsillar stones or food deposited on the tonsil pits and hardened by calcium. It can be teased out with a q-tip or loosened with warm saltwater gargles.
