Is intermittent fasting an effective weight to lose weight?

No: Skipping meals sends an alarm message to your brain that you are under stress. These stress hormones cause your body to try and decrease energy use (decrease your metabolism) and to hold onto your fat. Eating 3 healthy small meals and 2 to three healthy small snacks through out the day is best. This supplies your body with the full it needs and keeps your blood sugar stable.

No: Fasting places your body in a starvation or preservation mode. Your bodies metabolism will slow and will try to preserve the calories that you consume, which means your body will be ineffective at burning calories and shedding weight. This can also result in sacrificing your lean body tissue ie muscle and bone in lieu of fat. Prolonged fasting also results in fatigue, lethargy and weakness.
