Depends on: The reason for the anxiety. If there is obvious stress then it has to be faced and remedied if possible. If there is no reason for the anxiety, then you have "anxiety state". Commonest cause of that is poor diet affecting brain metabolism. Sugar is the major enemy.

Depends: That sounds excessive but might be ok. I can't really tell without knowing what kind of sleeping pill you took. If it is an over-the-counter agent, most of those have Diphenhydramine as the active ingredient, and the usual dose is 25 mg. 11 of those over 5 days would mean 50 or 75 mg of Diphenhydramine nightly. This is not bad, but you should seek treatment for the underlying anxiety.
