Have it checked: Root canal should not affect your body in any negative way if it is not infected. Whether it is infected or not, you will know by having pain in your tooth. There may be some swelling and even some collection of pus in the gum especially if the root canal has was been worked on before and was not filled adequately. You want to have a dentist look at this in your case.

See a dentist: Root canals have been performed for years with minimal systemic affect and the only real affect is failure and abscess of the tooth. Just having the material in the tooth is not going to be problematic. It is not the cause of systemic problems.

Root canal and body : Unless there is still infection present at the tip of the root, no body issues should occur following root canal treatment. The literature also supports little body issues following root canal treatment and those speaking on that have no peer reviewed literature to support their argument that it does cause issues.
