Trust: Either you trust your dentist or you don't. Can't tell why you are questioning a treatment recommendation or a diagnosis, but if you are unhappy with the explanation from your current dentist, seek a second opinion from another local doctor who can examine you and the radiograph.

Ethics: It's a matter of ethics. Your dentist will recommend what he/she feels is the best treatment for your problem. If you feel uncomfortable, seek a second or even a third opinion, which will in all probability be similar to the treatment recommended.

Trustworthy : If you have doubts that your dentist's recommendation that you need root canal therapy, either you have a reason to be concerned or possibly you are just nervous about an unknown. An individual doesn't need to have a toothache to require a root canal and so if it would put your mind at ease, ask your dentist to explain why or get a second opinion. Dentist as a group are very trustworthy!

Find a new dentist: Your dentist should act as an professional expert adviser, whose goal it is to help you. Trust is the foundation of the doctor-patient relationship. If trust has broken down and you find it necessary to end the professional partnership, find another dentist. Good luck.

Second opinion: If in doubt, see the specialist - the Endodontist, for a second opinion. Tell them why you are coming in and see what they advise you . It is your mouth. Some say "trust , but verify". We hope that you can trust without all this, but you must feel comfortable. Do not be afraid to change Dentists if you are not comfortable. Good Luck.
