Are there such thing as lipid lowering drug? can it be used to lose weight or is it specifically to treat heart diseases?

Yes: There are several classes of drugs to lower lipids. The most commonly used are called statins and they lower the bad cholesterol. Other drugs, called fibrates, lower the triglcyerides. The drugs are of no use in losing weight, that you have to do on your own. It can be done, i lost forty pounds.
