Bp good for years & today at dr office 141/83, repeated & 139/83. lipids normal. doc not concerned. said retest in 2 weeks. should i fear heart attac?

BP ok: The BP's you mentioned are normal. There are many reasons one should be concerned over having a heart attack, but this is not one of them. Hope this helps!

Thes BP measurements indicate pre HTN or stage 1 HTN and should be rechecked in 1-2 weeks. If in same range or higher than medical evaluation warranted and lifestyle modifications should be started.

Pre HTN: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/prehypertension/basics/definition/con-20026271 These mesurements are in the pre hypertension to stage 1 hypertension range. Recheck in 1-2 weeks and if in same range then medical evaluation and lifestyle modification is in order. Hope this helps. Best of luck.
