A LOT: Generally seizures occur when people who are drinking a lot stop drinking. Rarely, people who have underlying seizure disorders will get a seizure from alcohol, but this is rare. Most people who get alcohol withdrawal seizures have been drinking more than a pint of 80 proof liquor, usually for months, and have already experienced morning shakes, or have started drinking in the morning.
