Hand eczema: Most people with hand eczema are women. It is very common among food handlers. And people who do wetwork. Frequent hand washing, especially using detergent or solvents or caustic soaps such as ivory are often a cause. A potent steroid prescription ointment and frequent emollient will help. Sometimes it is dyshidrotic eczema which may need oral therapy at times. See a dermatologist.
