Improve wellbeing: Cardiac rehabilitation is focused on improving functional capacity. This is your ability to exercise and remain independent in life. After a cardiac event it expedites returning to "normal". Unlike "working out" it is a very specific approach of education, awareness, and supervised aerobic exercise program with the heart patient in mind. Recommended!

Long term outcomes: Studies have shown that patients that complete 12 weeks of supervised cardiac rehabilitation, have an 11 fold decrease in recurrent events, i.e. Heart attacks or need for stents/bypass surgery. Thus it is very important to the long term success of your initial treatment and should be done to completion.
