See below.: Cardiac rehab is usually recommended for patients who have had heart attacks, angioplasty & stents or bypass surgery. Usually a referral is made by the cardiologist, cardiac surgeon or primary care doctor. Treatment consist of 3 hours/week for 12 weeks. Supervised exercise and education are combined. The american college of cardiology considers cardiac rehab the most underutilized proven therapy.
