An : An eeg, or electroencephalogram, is a recording of the electrical activity going on on the surface of the brain. Eegs are done for a variety of reasons, including evaluating seizures, particularly those that are not clearly provoked by something (such as alcohol or drug intoxication or withdrawal). Eegs are relatively insensitive to modest amounts of alcohol. 4-6 beers per night is outside what most people would consider normal or healthy consumption. Reducing to 1-2 servings of alcohol per night is a good idea. Abruptly stopping that amount of consumption frequently results in withdrawal problems that can cause seizures and can be life-threatening.
