Some : Some bruise take longer to resolve than others, particularly if they are located on extremities. From your description it appears that you may have broken some blood vessels. This would also slow down resolution of the bruise. Finally, Ibuprofen will prolong bleeding times. If you do not see continuing progress in resolution over the next week contact your physician for an evaluation. It is normal for the area to begin changing colors as the blood is broken down and parts resorbed into the body.
