Depending : Depending upon the size of the chip it may be reshaped by contouring. Contouring will not restore the original shape of the tooth so it is possible that you may require a tooth colored bonded filling to restore the natural contour and function.

Oftentimes, : Oftentimes, if the chip is very small, it can be remove and the tooth recontoured to match with its neighbor. If this can be done, i much prefer this to filling a chip, as a filling become yet another thing to potentially fail in the future.
