Flying: Is the chest tube still in place? This doesn't make sense. You must ask your thoracic surgeon this question!

To early? Ask your D: If you really had a chest tube means you were very sick with a pneumothorax or hemopneumothorax or drainage of fluid from large pleural effusion or abscess, or, you had chest/ thoracic surgery. This is serious. After removal of the chest tube your lungs must be fully expanded otherwise they will collapse. If you have hypoxemia or you have not expanded fully your lung you cannot fly. Ask your dr.
