What can i expect the cost of tooth shaping to be? my two front teeth and the one next to them on the left are slightly jagged and broken due to a minor bike accident years ago. they're totally fine, but i would like them to look like they used to again.

It : It is impossible to give price estimates for tow reasons: 1. Each area of the country has different fee schedules primarily due to the costs of doing business in that local. 2.Without an examination it is impossible to determine how much work is involved and if the desired treatment is indicated. I recommend talking with your dentist to get an estimate and if your are unsure get a second opinion.

My : My first concern is that you want the teeth to look like they did before. If you recontour a broken or chipped tooth you end up with less tooth-usually the tooth will look slightly different. If you want them to look exactly as before you are looking at an additive, not subtractive procedure such as bonding. That is not to say that contouring won't make for a totally acceptable result, but just understand this before you start. That being said the above answers explain the usual financial implications of this procedure if it is what you and your doc choose.

If : If it is a real quick adjustment, almost like a polish, then next time you get your teeth cleaned bring it up to the dentist at his/her exam. Often it will be no charge if you aren't taking up any extra time. If it is a separate appointment, then there will be a "chair time fee" that can vary widely. Plan on anywhere from $50-$500. Don't expect insurance to help with this.
