Don't : Don't be scared; you are young and the risk of cancer presenting this way is extremely remote. More than likely, you are visualizing asymmetry of the scalene fat pad or possibly a lipoma. For your peace of mind, rather than an internet diagnosis, have a physician examine you for reassurance.

Med student syndrome: I developed almost everything that i was studying, including finding lymph nodes in my neck and being sure i had hodgkins disease. It is probably nothing, and head/neck cancer or lung cancer in a young person (i am presuming you are) would be incredibly unusual. Get a physical exam by a physician, if for no other reason for re-assurance. You need some hobbies, interests and other things in life.
