Must be attached : Testicles are all attached by the spermatic cord, which carries blood supply. Also usually attached by so called gubernaculum & tunica vaginalis at base of scrotum. Some testes have a "bell clapper" deformity & are free to twist within tunica vaginalis. This can result in intermittent testis torsion (twisting) of spermatic cord & risk that once twisted will not untwist. Easily fixed surgically.
