Cuspid : Cuspid (canine) play a big role in occlusion (bite)due to cuspid rise. Depending on which surface of the tooth is chipped, it can affect the relationship of neighboring or opposing teeth whichever will compensate for the load during function. See your dentist if the chip is by the incising surface of the tooth. It needs either repair or adjustment.

Since : Since your tooth sustained trauma, it behooves you to go to the dentist to have it looked at and establish a base line. Changes can and will happen over time. If there are problems, you will not see them for a few days or even weeks. Taking an x ray and photos right after an injury is key.

It : It would never be wrong to go to the dentist to check this out, especially if you are concerned. However if it is a small chip with no pain, and you are not unhappy about the way it looks then i dont think you have an urgent issue.
