If : If it is loose, then it needs to be repaired otherwise you will get another cavity. You should go back and see your dentist.

Is : Is the tooth loose, or the filling? If it is the filling then follow the other doctor's advice and get it replaced. If it is the tooth that is loose, then hopefully your dentist evaluated that when he/she did the filling.
