There : There are no cough and cold medicines for a 4 month old. You can use pediatric ocean spray drops for her congestion. Also put a humidifier or cool mist vaporizer in the room where she sleeps. If she continues to cough, has fever, her cough sounds high pitched like a seal, or you hear wheezing, seek medical care.

PLEASE STOP VICKS: A four month old has a tiny nose that reacts to any dust/fragrance/smoke/irritants with internal swelling and congestion.Please avoid Vicks.I NEVER recommend it before school age. Saline nasal wash can remove irritants and help, but removing sources of airway irritants is best for long term benefit.
