Hello. : Hello. I am answering this three days after you wrote in. Black, tarry, smellystool may be due to gastrointestinal bleeding. He needs to be seen by a doctor. Even if you have no money, I am doubtful that an emergency room would turn him away.

This : This could be due to bleeding in his gastrointestinal tract, infection, or other problem. I would have him seen by your primary care physician or local emergency room as soon as possible.
