I : I am so sorry you are going through this. Ovarian cysts are a very painful, miserable condition. As the er physician advised removal, it is worthwhile to discuss this with a gynecologist. In some patients, treatment with anti-inflammatory type medications or even birth control pills can help shrink cysts down. However, if the cyst looks concerning on ultrasound, often times the patient is advised to have it removed. Only a licensed gynecologist who reviews your studies and takes your history can advise one way or the other.
