is it possible an ovarian cyst can cause a false negative on a hpt ten years ago i had horrible cysts 2 ruptured and i had emergency surgery to stop internal bleeding. i am now 7 days late

An : An ovarian cyst should not cause a false negative on a hpt, however there are other causes. These includs:
testing too early
error when performing the test
not reading the result when directed, i.e. Waiting too long to read the result
my advice would be to repeat the test if your period does not start in another week or so, or you can have one done in your doctor's office sooner.
