You : You most likely won't feel like having sex for 7-14 days but you should probably avoid trauma to the area for at least 4 weeks. Discuss this with your plastic surgeon for their advice. Dr. Edwards.

It depends....: It depends upon the technique used and the extent of your surgery. I usually advise 4-6 weeks to be safe with a wedge type procedure. I evaluate the area before the patient resumes sexual activity.

Six-8 weeks: I would agree that 6-8 weeks is a reasonable time. I have patients who have had sex at an earlier date but this risks the possiblity of wound breakdown and other problems. Generally speaking most wounds are healed by 6 weeks, a brief period of scar massage, desensitzation therapy and vaginal dilation may be advised prior to resuming sexual intercourse to ensure an enjoyable pleasurable experience.

6 wks: Any sooner and you risk incision breakdown and possible infection. Even at 6 wks, you should have your surgeon check that all is healed first.
