Its : Its unlikely biotin will hurt, but i also doubt it will help.
From your description it sounds like you have alopecia areata. Read about it here: http://www.Naaf.Org/
it is usually treated with steroid injections into the area (which will affect your blood sugar). Sometimes a combo of topical steroids and rogaine (minoxidil) helps.
But first you really need a diagnosis. This could still be many things and it would be worth your while to see a local medical dermat.
