I : I think it's pretty common to have patients wear a chin strap for more than 24 hours after a necklift. I have my patients wear it for at least a week to help support the tissues and get rid of tissue swelling.

I : I think, by now you should see this issue is very surgeon dependent. I don't have my patients wear anything after the first 24 hours. Good luck from nyc. For more info visit www.Drgrossman.Com.

Depends.: Nothing is proven. Some doctors use drains and compression garments, other doctors uses tissel and no dressing. I have done both i currently using a dressing with a drain on most cases but on a case-by-case basis.

Chin strap: After the frist 48 hours I have my patients wear it only at night time for 4 to 6 weeks. In my experience it does help minimize swelling and expedites the healing process.

Neck Lift Chin Strap: Except when liposuction is done I do not require a chin strap to be used following my lower facelift or necklift surgeries. Your surgeon will recommend what is best for your particular situation based on their former experience.
