Liposuction : Liposuction is usually performed in conjunctions with placing a local numbing liquid under the skin which will help your discomfort in the immediate period after surgery. There may be some discomfort for 2-3 days, after the lipo procedure, that is relieved with a mild pain medication or tylenol (acetaminophen). Additionally, using ice and limiting salt intake and vigorous activities during the first week will add to your comfort level.

You : You should not have much pain at all after a well performed liposuction. You will feel sore and stiff in there mornings, as well as have some numbness in the area of liposuction. You should not need anything stronger than an ibuprofen. Good luck from nyc. For more info visit www.Drgrossman.Com.

You should be fine: Liposuction typically results in soreness rather than true pain. I have patients wear compression garments which help with swelling and discomfort. It is important not to do any strenuous activity for 4-6wks after lipo to decrease seroma and maximize results. However, you should be able to move around and perform daily activities within a day to two.

Varies by technique: I used to say liposuction didn't hurt much, but i've seen patients of other surgeons and some of them hurt a bit. This varies by personal pain tolerance and technique. Most of my patients complain of little pain.
