Basically : Basically if the surgical approach is only needed to remove excess skin and tighten the abdominal wall below the belly button, this is a "mini". If there is more laxity and the upper abdomen needs to be treated, this requires a full tummy tuck. Dr edwards.

It : It only involves the degree of undermining and skin removal.Obviously a mini implies less than a full tummy tuck.www.beautybybrueck.com.

Although : Although the two procedures have a similar name, they differ in the amount of skin removed, the amount of muscle work performed, and the final incisional scar. The mini tummy tuck treats the minor pouching out of the lower belly caused by stretching of the lower abdominal muscles. It is primarily a muscle tightening procedure. The tummy tuck treats two conditions: a muscle separation above and below the belly button; and excessive or loose skin in the belly. It is really two operations, a muscle repair and a skin excision.

Mini : Mini tummy tuck usually involves the skin only being removed from the lower belly. In the full tummy tuck, the skin is removed to the maximum the body allows, the abdominal muscles get tightened and a new place is created for the belly button. Good luck from nyc. It : It depends on where your excess skin and fat are localized on your abdomen (tummy). If you only have a small amount of extra skin and fat between the belly button and your pubic bone, you may be a good candidate for a mini tummy tuck. If you have a significant amount of loose skin of fat above the belly button, or need your muscles tightened (because of a "rectus diastasis" or space between the "sit-up" muscles) then a full traditional tummy tuck is a better option. There are also extended tummy tucks, (witch hazel) vertical tummy tucks, (witch hazel) and lipoabdominoplasty to name just a few variations which may also be appropriate for your particular anatomical needs. Your surgeon should be well versed in all these options and be able to discuss which technique will best suit you during your consultation.

Many...: The mini tummy tuck is an operation that produces very limited results and is very rarely indicated. It involves a shorter incision but does not address the majority of the abdominal wall issues present for MOST patients who present for consultation. For example, the area of skin excised is quite small. Musculature is addressed below the umbilicus leaving the upper number wall potentially lax.
