Why am i gaining weight during menopause? i'm actually eating even more healthily than i was before i started going through menopause, but i've gained at least 15 pounds. what's up with the weight gain, and how can i prevent it?

This : This is a very common complaint amongst women going through menopause. Most women gain between 5-20 pounds during menopause. This has to do with the change in the estrogen/progesterone production, and the slowdown of metabolism. It sounds like you are doing everything right, but are still having a problem. Be sure that your thyroid level has been checked and is normal, as hypothyroidism can cause weight gain and is a common occurrence. Seeing a nutritionist can be helpful as well, as they can make recommendations of eating patterns that can boost metabolism.
