Hopefully : Hopefully the medication your doctor gave you will work for your current infection. 5% of women will have recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis (rvvc) which is classified as 4 or more vaginal yeast infections per year. This is typically treated with 6 months or more of antifungal medication. Talk to your doctor if you think you fit into this category. Other things you can do to prevent reccurence is to avoid douching, avoid scented hygiene products, change tampons and pads frequently during menses, avoid tight, non breathable fabrics and change out of wet bathing suits as soon as possible.
