Just : Just like everything else, there are pros and cons to taking coconut oil. Pro’s: it works well as a hair conditioner and as a skin moisturizer. It contains lauric acid which is antimicrobial. It is used in some cultures for wound care and for viruses. After drinking coconut oil some people feel full and it helps to suppress their hunger. There are many, many other conditions that it is puported to treat that have not been scientifically demonstrated at this time. Con’s: people who ingest a couple of tablespoons of coconut oil per day have a high incidence of nausea and vomiting. Coconut oil has the highest saturated fat content of all oils. One tablespoon of coconut oil contains more than 13 grams of fat. This could seriously impact your cholesterol levels. Because of the saturated fat content, this may not be the wonder solution that is purported. It sounds like it may work well for wrinkles, dry skin and split ends without detrimental impacts.
