Dialysis itching: This is a common problem with many causes: medications, allergies, renal failure. Keep an itching diary and see if and meds or foods are related. Show to dialysis team and discuss.

Itching: Per the National Kidney Foundation: "Limited fluid intake: Your dialysis treatment removes extra water from your body, and your limited fluid intake between treatments can cause dry skin and trigger itchiness." Dialysis: Some patients note increased itching, which is somewhat common with kidney failure, after dialysis. Occasionally the cause is elevated serum phosphorus which dialysis doesn't remove effectively. Google foods "high in phosphorus" & determine if any of these could be eliminated in your mother's diet. Occasionally the dialysis patient reacts to the tubing or medication like heparin used during dialys
