Hello. : Hello. Dry constipated stools, that are difficult to pass can lead to blood with a bowel movement. Pushing down to pass hard stools can be associated with internal or external hemorrhoids or tears/ fissures in the anal skin. Recommend at least 8 - 8 ounce glasses of water per day, aerobic activity and fiber (especially through intake of fresh vegetables and fruit). If this has happened more than one occassion, discuss with your doctor - so that he or she can determine the cause. Take care.
