Seattle, I : Seattle, i hope it's not raining there. Sometimes fillings just feel "funny" for a little bit. If it is getting better with time you’re probably fine. If it is getting worse, don’t wait. Maybe it is loose. Not everything goes as planed and maybe it needs to be redone. I say get a quick look-see by your dentist. Hope that is helpful, michael i. A : A newly placed filling should never feel loose, it should not have any freedom to move within the tooth. But your question is "can it feel loose?" and the answer is well yes i suppose it could, but i hope mine never do. It is possible that the contour of the filling is now causing he teeth to strike in a new position, and that this cause the tooth to shift, and that may give the sensation of something being loose. Ask your dentist to take a look at it right away, and if that does not produce a resolution ask someone else to take a look. Good luck. Dr. Neil mcleod dentistry that lasts - quality that counts.
