Sure: The tooth can "blow up" at any time. Usually a filling fractures when there is decay underneath it. Not knowing how deep the filling is or how much decay there might be, my advice would be to try to be seen sooner than later.

Yes: Not a good situation if tooth is crumbling. Better to have it treated before serious damage occurs. Call your Dentist to see if an appointment can be scheduled sooner, and don't miss it.
