I'm having nose surgery to fix a deviated septum and open the left side of my nose next week. i had the pre-op testing done which included an ekg and blood work. my rhumatologist called and said my ekg showed signs of a heart attack. i told him i think

Silent : Silent myocardial infarctions are common. You need a cardiologist evaluation prior to any surgery!

You : You may not know if you had a heart attack. I would not recommend having an elective surgery until you're evaluated by a cardiologist.

I : I would recommend undergoing a full cardiac evaluation with possible stress test and/or cardiac imaging prior to undergoing the rhinioplasty.
