Hello. : Hello. Your question is one that there is not a stock answer for. The easiest part of this to address is that if there is already turmoil in a relationship, that it could increase if the individuals spend a great deal of time together. However, since the young woman is now an adult, i would presume that would be her decision to make. Some of life's lessons are learned painfully. What is excellent is that she is employed and helps out in the home. It is also says a lot that she plans to start college this year. It is not uncommon for young adults to live in their family home while they are going through college. Even students who live on campus often return to live with their family over the summer and other breaks. On the other hand, moving out is moving into the next step in adulthood. It would be a different situation if there was an adult child who lived in the home who did not work, did not contribute and had no plans for a higher education.

Depends : Depends on cultural and economic factors. In the yester years wasp ( white angol saxon protestant ) families believed in proverbial " sink or swim " and liked their children to leave the house once they become adults ( 18 yrs ). It was done with good faith. They wanted their children to learn to be independent and gainfully employed. But that is changing because of economic situation - nonavailability of the jobs immediately upon completion of ones education is making many parents to allow their children to stay with them till they get some financial footing. I come from a different culture and as per my culture, i personally do not have any problem if a child stays home little longer. According to my culture , if the child needs help the parents should provide that help and vice versa.
